"Starter spring go bad on your electric starters which then allows the starter gear to creep out and hit the ring gear on the clutch at higher RPM's? It appears when the sled is revv'ed to 6000+rpm's. The gear creeps out and hits the ring gear throwing sparks and a noise similar to shredded belt threads whipping around. Also can be seen when inspecting the starter and ring gears for outside tooth wear."
